JANMASTAMI CELEBRATION AT LAXMI INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT
In Hindu belief, a manifestation of Lord Vishnu is Shri Krishna whose birthday is celebrated as Janmashtami every year. The festival is special not just for India but other countries as well. On this day, the devotees of Lord Krishna put up ‘Jhankis’ and offer prayers. As per Hindu Panchang, Lord Krishna’s birthday is celebrated every year on the eighth day of Bhadrapada month’s Krishan Paksha, which falls in August–September as per the English calendar. This year, the festival will be celebrated on Monday, August 30. Laxmi Institute Of Management celebrated this occasion on 27 August 2021 Friday.
Director Dr. Keyur Nayak while addressing the students spoke about the importance of the day and various aspects of Krishna’s youthful days, the dahi handi celebration and his playful and mischievous side. He said the holy occasion brought people together and signified unity and faith. He further said all religious festivals, including Gurpurab, Eid and Christmas were celebrated at the college to promote brotherhood among children and lay the right foundation. He said the festival was celebrated all over the world by Hindus.
The students of Laxmi Institute Of Management celebrated Janmasthami in a special assembly, where a skit, with diverse ‘Leelas’ of Sri Krishna, was enacted by the students, the fact that whenever there will be dominance of malevolence ‘He’ will reincarnate to destroy the evil and save the good. It was nonetheless brought to life by the scintillating dance performances that represented His ‘Leelas’ and depicted the importance of the occasion. This was followed by a couple of group bhajan’s by students.
